Tremendous interview with forward thinking orthopedist, Wael Barsoum who embodies the rare combination of excellent administrator, savvy business leader and dedicated clinician in the MSK sector.
Some great thoughts on leaders, including “seeing around corners”. My question is HOW do you get others to follow you when you turn that corner- a real challenge since collaboration is often lacking amongst physicians, particularly orthopedists- discussed in Chapter 4 of my book.
Agree with universal coverage model as long as competition is not only maintained but encouraged.
