Dr. Kelechi Okoroha, remember this name in the orthopedic world! He’s just 2 years out of fellowship and just got offered to be on the medical staff for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He trained at Rush, arguably one of the best sports medicine fellowships in the country, and played basketball at Xavier University, still finding a way to study and applying to medical school. Our topics discussed include:
-Remarkable story how he was able to combine his passions becoming an orthopedic surgeon and being on the medical staff to support professional players
-Unique fellowship at Rush with research, training with top doctor’s and top-level professional athletes
-Research on opioid sparing for surgery and sports medicine procedures
-Ambassador of AAOS for social media and improving orthopedic collaboration as a whole. Dr. Okoroha is social media savvy and growing his following
-Advice to young orthopedic listeners
