Kevin Kruse, MD, joins us this episode to discuss all the fantastic things he’s done just 6 years into practice. Dr. Kruse is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Texas Orthopaedic Associates, LLP, with extensive training in the shoulder, elbow, and hand. Dr. Kruse completed a fellowship on the hand and upper extremities at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center before traveling to Lyon, France, to complete a fellowship on shoulder surgery at the Centre Orthopedique Santy, with the world-renowned surgeon, Gilles Walch. We get to hear his story on prepping for his fellowship in France for 4 months and hear about his book, Dr. Hustle.

He is a nationally and globally renowned specialist in arthroscopic and open shoulder, elbow, and knee surgery, and sports medicine. He is Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he holds the Frank E. Stinchfield Professorship in Orthopedic Surgery, and serves as Chief of the Orthopedics Service at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Levine also assumed the role as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons in January 2016.

As Head Team Physician for Columbia University, Dr. Levine is responsible for providing care for 31 Columbia intercollegiate athletic teams. Under his guidance, the department’s surgeons also function as Team Physicians for the New York Yankees, Major League Soccer’s (MLS) New York City Football Club, the Rockland Boulders, Fordham University, City College of New York, as well as over 25 high schools.

Dr. Chahla is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of complex knee, hip, and all sports related injuries. He is a team physician for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls and Chicago Fire. He did his education in his home country of Argentina, where he got his MD and Ph.D. Dr. Chahla did not one, not two, but three fellowships at top institutions in the U.S. including SMOG, SPRI and Rush Orthopedics. Dr. Chahla is passionate about research with 250+ published articles, 30 book chapters and well known internationally with his lectures.
